Licenses

Basic License requirements are:
a.Theoretical/classroom training for 24 months (without training one may also appear before examination)
b.Category B1.1 license comprises of 13 modules and 16 examinations (MCQ 13 + Essay 3)
c.Category B2 license comprises of 12 modules and 15 examinations (12 MCQ + 3 Essay)
d.3 years maintenance experience on live/operating aircraft in Part-145 AMO
Regulatory authority i.e CAAB/EASA issues basic license

For Type License:
a. Successfully complete the type course from EASA Part-147 AMTO
b. For 1st type license shall undergo OJT under type rated engineer at Part-145 AMO
c. Regulatory authority i.e EASA issues type license

Courses

BTEC stands for Business and Technology Education Council of United Kingdom. This qualification is provided by Pearson/ Edexcel, UK. BTEC Level 3 is the Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering. BTEC Level 5 is Higher National Diploma in Aeronautical engineering which is equivalent 1st and 2nd year of BS in aeronautical engineering and students can go for 2 year top-up degree to different Universities.

AME means Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. It is also called certifying staff or aircraft engineer or aircraft maintenance engineer (AME). Type rated engineer (AME) issues certificate release to service of an aircraft

EASA mean European Aviation Safety Agency, it is the common regulatory body of Civil Aviation Authority of European Countries (EU). CAAB means Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and is regulatory authority (for civil aviation) of Bangladesh. Regulatory Authority implements regulation, controls, monitors, safety oversight, issues licenses to pilot, engineers and various other important functions.
